The Linux version of Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns hits the beta milestone.

HOUSTON, TEXAS - TimeGate Studios, Inc. and Loki Software, Inc. are pleased to announce that the popular fantasy strategy game, Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns, has entered the beta stage of development for the Linux platform. A noted achievement for the gaming industry, Kohan will be the first of the real-time strategy gaming genre to be commercially available for Linux.

"We are thrilled to announce reaching the beta milestone of porting Kohan to Linux with Loki," says Adel Chaveleh, TimeGate's Managing Director. "The excitement of offering Kohan to gamers on multiple platforms builds up even more with this accomplishment. All of the awards and positive reviews Kohan has received support our beliefs that this game is sure to please the Linux gamer."

The game has received much praise for many of its dynamic features such as:

- An intriguing storyline that emphasizes discovering the history of the Kohan
- Unique company-based combat system, that allows players to build companies from the ground up, mixing and matching over 40 different units to create thousands of combinations
- Classic military concepts, such as morale, supply, terrain, formation, and more that affect how each company responds
- Unique, simple to manage upkeep-based economic system that takes the micromanagement out of RTS economics
